Unable to Register, argh!
So I went and purchased FFXI for the Xbox360 today and just sat down to get it all set up. I went through the registration process and towards what I think was the end it asked me if i wanted to change my email address (the @pol.com one), which I tried to do, I tried a few times and it kept giving me a communication error. I then clicked on 'go to previous screen' and it took me all the way back to the beginning screen.
I tried to go through this process again but it is not taking the registration code on the back of the manual. I tried to call SE but they are closed (not having any weekend hours is unbelievable but whatever). I saw a POL number but I didn't write it down (I didn't know I needed to
They have my mailing address, credit card #, etc so will they be able to help me? After reading around the forums my concern now is that I am SOL. I guess my only recourse will be to return the game and if that doesn't work then I would need to stop payment with my credit card company but that seems a little excessive for just trying to register to play the game. If I'm out $50 without every playing the game I am going to be really, really frustrated.
Please help - any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated!

Well, all I can tell you is that you're not alone. TONS fo XBox players have been experiencing this problem. Sorry man.

Registration server has been under maintenance lately. That could be a reason.
And as far as I know, they tell you many times to write down the POL ID and password -- they even have a spot in the manual to write it down.
*shrug* Just have to wait til SE are open I guess.
"... and so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written."

Looks like the PlayOnline Info center will be open this weekend. So I will give them a call tomorrow AM and update what happens.

The PlayOnline tech support was extremely helpful and got me my POL-ID in no time and I am just finishing the install now. It wasn't half as a pain as thought it would be.
