    Default Active or Wait?

I go with Wait because I like having the ATB timer at maximum speed without getting my ass kicked while scrolling down to Vivi's Water spell.

I go with wait if I'm not familiar with the game but I prefer active because it makes the fights more fast paced and exciting.

Active because Auto-Regen cure you fast in FFIX if you go on with Active. I prefer Wait in FFX-2 because I keep thinking which will I use. FFX does not have active or wait.

Active all the time. I've never used Wait, not even on my first playthroughs. Random battles are rarely challenging enough to warrant the use of Wait.

Active! with wait...I feel like I'm playing some SNES rpg or something, it just doesn't feel new if you put it on wait.

Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Active, mainly because I like the feeling of tension I get, however small it is.
Boy am I an unfunny ass.

Active, because it's not fair to the enemy if they can't make a choice while you're making a choice. I mean, the in game calculator has to make all those odds determinations and ability pathing, yet all YOU have to do, is sit around with a bag of cheetos and press three buttons with one hand.

    Down, X, Left
    Four if you count Circle

Two hands if you think you might die. If you have acheived 1337ness, then you don't have to have a controller plugged in at all, and still somehow win.

"Hmm, Zidane is almost dead, maybe is should nuke CURE3 WIT DAGGR N EIKO!!! LOL ROFLMAO!", is the hardest you have to think.

    Ok, ok, ok, I apologize.
For those of you who don't hit the same button all the time, and have found a way to input and cancel a command with L3 and R3, then you will also be able to use:

    Up, Right, Triangle, Square
    R1, L1, R2, L2, R3, L3
    Start, Select, Analog

EDIT: Yes, I am aware that you can change the button setup in the Options on the Main Menu.

In reality though, it takes far less time to choose an ability.

Wait, because it makes me and the CPU even. Now, if the CPU had to spend precious seconds on scrolling down a long list of spells like I do, I'd use active. I do put the battle speed at maximum though, and I am a fan of action-oriented speedy battle systems. it's just unfair that the CPU can make its choice in a matter of nanoseconds while I'm impaired by slow buttonpresses.

Wait, because I don't like being nuked as I prepare a Phoenix Down for my dead healer.
