In the original, they didn't have that. They added it in for the later versions.

On my second play-through my characters were:

Koan - Black Mage
Petz - Fighter
Cala - Fighter
Bert - White Mage

I named them after the Ayakashi sisters (Koan, Petz, Calaveras, Berthier).

Thief: Latz - LATZ
Red Mage: Ouphen - OPHN
White Mage: Magda - MGDA

They just sound adventurous.

i used bartz and galuf as an homage to ff5, which i thought was a direct sequel at the time, Patrik as it was my nom du plume at the time and Znar to pay homae to the announcer at the start of ffx.

i think FF NPC character names seems to work very well. mainly ones from the old series.

like i said earlier i used.

BB- Duncan (FF6.)
WM- mikoto (FF9.)
BM- kluya (FF4.)
RM- gill. (FF5.)

I use bastardized-romanized Japanese

F/K = Kixi (Kishi) = "knight"
T/N = Hixu (Hishu) = "dirk" or "dagger"
BB/M = Sou = "monk"
RM/RW = Aka = "red"
WM/WW = Xiro (Shiro) = "white"
BM/BW = Kuro = "black"

I own Origins, but I prefer playing the ROM, so I use 'x' instead of 'sh' to stay within the four-letter-limit. And this is my first post!
