(SPOILER)He basically went into the darkness, and consumed its power while taking on the form of Ansem, because that's what he wanted. It's all explained in game.
"Blind Folded Riku" is Riku with a blindfold.

Well since this is Kingdom Hearts and they always talk about light and dark and heartless crap it could have been someone that looks like Riku. Just making sure fellas.
