Quests you can do right from the get go. In fact, the moment you start the game you're given a quest to give an adventurer coupon to one of the NPCs in town. I recommend doing quests whenever you have time because you'll appreciate having done it gradually over a period of time rather than having to do a bunch of repetitive quests later on in order to build fame.
