You can't argue with native speakers about their own language very often and win, kids.
You plainly don't speak Spanish. Articles are used with just about everything. You can't just straight translate word-for-word from English.

In spanish, the article is needed in every name and object, is obligatory, actually english cannot be traducted like that in spanish, even if you say "I went to Church", in spanish you have to add the article. OWNED BACK!!!
