I say go on with the round, and give a compromise for the next round, extra time or something
    OR
release the votes anyways and cancel it.

Maxx is right, though, what's done is done. If you cancel it, it does kinda make the stuff pointless. But I do think that it was unfair that you didn't stick to the time, and ended entries early, it kinda was unfair to those who have prior dedications. But I have no feeling for those who were just lazy.

I agree I worked hard on mine, I say carry on with the round and just scrap the votes til all is in, then ask people to resend votes.
    I'll figure it out later...

there were some pretty inctricate ones there and If people could do those in the time frame that we had then there shouldn't be a reason that ohers couldn't.

That's irrelevent. We were told we had until Monday at 10 PM. That was changed suddenly without warning. If we keep this, the Decathlon is a shambles without serious competition and without rules. I was really busy this weekend moving back from college, and thought I would have time to do my entry on Monday. If I had KNOWN that I had to turn it in earlier than that, I would have done so. Rye, as another example, was gone most of this weekend.

I guess another solution is to keep the round as is only for bragging rights but not count the votes towards the overall competition. This would allow the people who were allowed to participate in round 2 to see what people thought of their entry but still scratch the round towards the Decathlon due to random mid-round changes.

    EDIT:

Assuming that everything does go ahead as normal, I don't think that non-participants should lose a point (normally they get -1 for that round).

I talked about that with Proto earlier, and that doesn't make this any less unfair, since the participants still lose a chance to gain points.

Levian: I could make a pig, but the three others may not be able to. And that doesn't change the stupidity of this round. It should just be scrapped so we can start over with clear rules.

Now how would you like it if we removed the submitted piggy's so noone could see them and extended the time limit till tomorrow, so the other three will have time to get their entries in? A lot of people worked hard for this task, and I'm sure they don't want to watch their entry go down the drain.

I know it doesn't, but I was just saying that as a safeguard in case it does go ahead. I personally don't think it should so there you go.

I agree. Even if we did submit them now, what's the use, seeing how almost everyone voted already.

Just so you guys know, only four people have voted before I decided the decision to put the votes on hold to start on this debate whether to cancel the round or go with the votes after 10 PM EST.

Apparently, I have been declared banished.

Yeah, those four will have to vote again later, if we decide to not scrap this round.

I don't like that some of these were obviously not drawn with Paint.

Also, I think we should put the round on hold until ten, which is like an hour from now, or even just extend it another day. I agree with some of the people who say this goes pretty slow, but moving up the deadline without warning was the wrong move. It is hard to please everyone, Prot, and no matter what you do someone will criticize you, but it is much more important to stick to your word.

Welll, at least it was only four people.
Since the number is so low, I say keep going, wait for new entries, and ask the four to rechoose after the time limit.

If you have MSPaint, which everyone should have, make a size 150 x 150 sized drawing of a pig done on MSPaint or Photoshop/Paint Shop Pro/etc. How you draw the pig is up to you, and coloring is optional, but definitely not required.
I think this round is screwed no matter what anyone does. There'll be arguments that pre-emptively showing most people's entries gives the late-comers an edge, there'll be arguments that the late contestants will give up already instead of giving their best (which they supposedly would have given), that the people who already submitted their pigs should not be penalized because not everyone submitted their entries, that Pr00t jumped the gun and it's not the late contestants' fault, et cetera, et cetera and so on.

Despite all the arguments (and who's right and who's wrong), I'd rather have a solution than spend ten years arguing over what to do. It's more akin to spilled milk than the end of the world.
