amazing chocobo

By my understanding I need four chocobos that will grow to level 5 in order to get the Amz. Choco. I have heard that your choco's. don't have to be bold, but that is what I have decided to do. In catching prospects- out of something like 20 choco's. I have caught one that will go to level 5.

Are there any tricks to catching lv. 5 choco's? Should I go for normal, timid choco's. instead?

I think any will do as long as they get to level 5.

The type of chocobo doesn't really matter. The only thing I can suggest about catching level 5 chocobos is that they seem to show up more in chapter 5. I just did this side quest, and I think I caught about 30, and I got four level 5's. It's random unfortunately.

I found the odds were better for bold chocobos.

Well I've got one Lv. 5 bold so I guess I'll stick with them. I am in Story Lv. 5, but it's still slow going. Guess I just need patience.

You should try catching lvl.5 chocobos in the Thunder plains, I got all of mine there and all the chocobos you catch there are bold XD plus if they run away when you send them out, just restart o_o

Yeah, I've been catching at thunder plains and kilika, and, trust me, I always save before doing something risky. I HATE replaying tedious events...

But I got bored with choco. catching and started a new file of VIII. So the amazing choco. will just have to wait.
