hope so.....it's better to start on a fresh story.
Maybe Square Enix isnt making it another sequel to FFX,and is nothing to do with FFX,but they just sort of just add a little bit of reference to it in FFXIII.

really do hope that SE make another FFX-3(with a more creative plot of course)..... sad.....*that's unlikely to happen...unless FFX achieved a popularity like FF7 and then SE make another Compilation of Final Fantasy X.
