In FFII, Ultima was a piece of suck that did maybe 800 damage while your Fire spell was probably doing around 1500. :PUltima in II can either be the strongest spell in the game or the weakest.Ultima was the most powerful spell when I played FFII.I've had it doing 3-4000 while flare was doing no more than 2000, but before I knew how it worked, it sucked.
Meteor.because it's cool.Ultima is always my second.
The strongest spell is neither Ultima, nor Meteo, since you cannot cast either one in real life, nor is there a guarantee of each ending the battle, except in special situations.
The BEST spell, is hitting the PS2 switch off and saying "OMG I WIN!"
But seriously, both of them suck. Doomsday == better. Big damage PLUS massive Healing? Pwned.
I'd say Comet 2 is the "meteor" of FF7, but that's just my opinion. I'm going for Ultima anyway. Ultima and meteor can both be good in FF8 though. Here's a hint: Junction spells for magic power instead of physical power.

can you hear me in the void?
Not really, if you don't have Shadow absorbing armor plus Ozma and Hades absorb it. I tell you, Flare is definitely better than Doomsday in FFIX.Originally Posted by Tavrobel

I am using the assumption that you have actual shadow-absorb armor on. And Flare isn't all that great. Damned Reflect. That thing has killed Vivi WAY too many times. I am not wasting a turn and casting Reflect with Eiko just so Vivi can double his attack power. What a waste of AP. And Ozma only absorbs Dark half the time; the other time he is weak against it.Originally Posted by vivi_ultima
Flare deal more damage eventhough Doomsday hit all. Auto-Reflect make things more easier. If you want to deal serious damage to this Ozma and Hades, use Eiko's Holy.Originally Posted by Tavrobel

That's what I did. I didn't have Doomsday when I fought Hades, so I didn't have to worry about it. Oddly enough, I spent 15 minutes re-arranging my armor and weapons to fight against Hades' Doomsday as best could, and I killed him before he could use Doomsday. I was really surprised. Level 49 was highest character, on the way to Memoria.
And Ozma... was a pain, stupid Chocobo side-quest.
Yeah, I've never had it behave like that. For me it's always been great at first (doing something like 500 at level 1), but then quickly become overshadowed by every other attack spell in the game. *shrug*Originally Posted by DarkLadyNyara
Ultima. FFVIII's ultima is kick ass, especially when you get it X3 in Selphie's slots.
