Thread: Why Garnet/Dagger?

I'll admit they did seem a bit distant and not much of a couple at the beginning, but that's what Square intended. It was supposed to start off small, and then they realised they loved eachother. Kinda the same with Beatrix and Steiner, then again.

    Agreed!

Wait...yr rite. But one way or another, they would confess and date, and Steiner would probably be a man and ask, one day or another...

The girl...acts like a girl. Tifa, Aerith, Rinoa, they were actually hitting on the lead males, what's up with that? And then Cloud and Squall reject them until disc 3. Garnet is believable, with her sheltered life, she is easily offended by Zidane's flirts. A guy hitting on a girl, and the girl rejecting...wow, like how young people act in real life, what a concept! Any newbies who read this, feel free to read "Stop Whining!" for more details.
Yes, god forbid the day a women hits on a man. Something like that would never happen in real life, :rolleyes2

Though yes, on every other count your right. She did seem like a real person, had very real responses for the kind of person she was.

Yes, Steiner would, but I don't see it being a lasting relationship with the way they are.

Garnet was a perfect girl for everyone. She's a real girl, and not a stereotypical, classic heroine in other FFs. That's why I liked her so much

ermm, when a girl hits on a woman, the man has to guess what to do next.

When a man hits on a girl, it's sexual harrasment, unless the girl fansied the man first.

garnet is realistic compared to all the other ff girls.

rinoa is childish and rather annoying, aeris is just a little too nice and flirty, tifa is okay too, selphie is too hyper, yuna is too respectful and gets on my nerves when she bows every single time she talks

garnet is sweet and she is nothing like a princess would be, spoiled, bratty, and etc...

I played the game when I was 14, that was five years ago, so my opinion about Garnet/Dagger might change if I replay the game, but from what I remember about her, she's a very sweet character. She has a lot of tragic and sad things happen to her and she has to go through a lot of things, and I felt sorry for her about some of the things that happened in the game. She's also very cute, and her eyes are just so sweet.

Ahem, anyway, the love story between her and Zidane gets a lot of development, but I thought it was a realistic and a well executed love story, with the two having a "true friends" style relationship, meaning they were there to help and support each other rather than everything being just romantic hugging and kissing. The "You're Not Alone" scene in Pandemonium, when Dagger helps Zidane get back to his senses, is especially meaningful, and a really fantastic scene in the game.

I'm not sure why, she just seemed so royal, but not where she believed she was above people.

Personally, I didn't like Garnet until later when she actually got accustomed to how things are. Up until then, she was just the stereotypical 'omg I'm the princess help me!!', with some other funny one-liners. After she cut her hair and was like "oh, now I know what to do', and I'm like 'it's about time'. Oh god, and the mute event..ugh. I kept wondering why she wouldn't do anything. Ah well.

    Still, she has Bahamut.

The only problem I have with Garnet is she looks somewhat like Rinoa and I DON'T like Rinoa. But other than her appearance my opinion on her is neutral I don't like her but I don't hate her either.

    Raine > Terra > Tifa > Rosa > Garnet.

She is by far not the best lead Even though Raine wasn't a lead. But she was better then all of them.
