I'm not sure, but you may need to head to the ruins and search the desk for a note that tells you he's leaving.

Can you freely choose the order in which you go to the meteors?
Probably, but Karnak Meteor is closer. Anyway, I killed Titan and the Kima Brain, and I rested up in Tycoon, now where the hell did Cid run off too?

errrr.... did you visit the one where Walz tower sunk?
I think the ones you have been to are:
Tycoon castle (1st meteor no boss)
Karnak (3rd meteor Titan)
And Earth crystal/ Ronka ruins (4th meteor Kimabrain)
So yup that leaves Walz tower and Pyuroboros
I'm pretty sure the Karnak Meteor crashed close to Walz tower. Just give me a map or something.
