A lot of things aren't said in the game or the movie, but does that mean they simply don't exist? Of course not. Not everything is going to be presented to you so obviously. This might be a scary thought, but for some of these things you actually have to think a bit.

Instead of negative, you could think of it as corrupt spirit energy. Both are correct.
