    Default Compressing video

Does anyone know how to compress video? I recently made an amv that I'd like to upload to Youtube but it's 124mb and Youtube doesn't allow uploads bigger than 100mb. I'm uploading it onto another site I use which allows 150mb uploads but I'd really like to upload it to Youtube as well. (The vid is 8 and a half minutes long.)

You should be able to download a trial of Adobe Premiere here. But I don't know how you would go about compressing the video in it or if it can even compress videos. Usually in Adobe products it's File > Save For Web > and then you can compress it however you want.

    http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/

I hope you saved an uncompressed version of your video else you'll end up with some awful artifacts.

Save the codec, install it, use it in virtualdub or whatever program you use to reencode your video.

There's several other codecs than the one I listed. You can try all sorts, like the latest divx(which you have to download the player with to get the codec), huffyuv, lagarith.

Really, what you ought to do is take some time and peruse the forums and files at http://www.animemusicvideos.org

Er, don't try huffyuv or lagarith if you want small files - these will give you videos several 10s of GBs in size for your 8 minute video, since they're lossless codecs Use xvid or divx with sensible compression options - you could try h264 too since that's even more superior at decent quality at small file sizes, but even I don't know how to use the more advanced stuff of that one properly yet since I've not had time to play with that one

Well I'm using mostly DivX files but since I'm using Windows Movie Maker I can't save the file as anything other that .wmv

Yeah I know. I'll probably just cut the last minute and a half from the version I'll put on Youtube.

This isn't my computer its my parents and they don't particularly like me and my sister making vids. So odds of being allowed to install another program are very low.
