Getting Magic Counter, Enemy Away, etc.

I've raced seven different Chocobos to S-Class, and i recieved that gift package after you win an S-Class race 10 times or so, but I still haven't gotten any of the Chocobo-race specific materia. Is there some trick I'm missing, or does it actually take this long to get these materia? Please help.

It comes with luck, as does the fabled Final Attack materia. Anyway, the chances are that when you do see it come up as a winnable item, you won't get it because some ditz called Teioch(sp?) will screw up the ranking etc.

I thought that it was possible to get Enemy Away in the normal GP area, from the lady? Maybe i was mistaken?

i thought u had to beat the special battle in battle square to get final attack? and quadra magic is got with a black/gold chocobo?

As d£v!l'$ ph0£n!x said, Final Attack is won from the Special Battle at the Battle Square. You need to have purchased and learned Omnislash (51,200 BP on disc 1, 32,000 BP thereafter), purchased W-Summon (64,000 BP), and defeated Ultima WEAPON, then complete all eight battles.

As for the materia from the Chocobo Square, here's a list.

Here's clarification of other things mentioned.

The materia you can buy from the Wonder Square are the Gil Plus materia for 1,000 GP and the EXP Plus materia for 2,000 GP.

Materia obtained from caves on the World Map are

Quadra Magic - Mideel - Blue Chocobo
Mime - Wutai - Green Chocobo
HP <-> MP - Corel - Black Chocobo
KotR - Round Island (NE corner of the map) - Gold Chocobo
