Offical Picture Thread

So funny story... I made a point of not playing FFXI when it came out. I just KNEW that I could be the type to get somewhat hopelessly addicted to an MMORPG. So for a year I made a point of not picking the game up. Well one night I was sitting at home reading another FF messageboard that I've frequented for around 7 years now (wow it's been a long time). Well I wandered into their FFXI forums and decided to have a look around at the game I knew nothing about and had been avoiding.

Well I found their Official Picture Thread and began browsing. Everything looked so epic. Their advetures looked so fun. They were interacting and working together and it just looked like far to much fun. So this was around 2 A.M. I decided to drive to the nearest Wal-Mart and picked up a copy of the game and came home to install it. The next morning I started playing (after updates of course). It was great. I loved it.

It all started because of a picture thread. You can read about people's adventures but there's something different about pictures. I've been neglectful in taking many pictures lately because it seems like the same old to me but I remember when this stuff was fresh and new and awesome. So anyway... I think maybe this place needs an Official Picture Thread just for the random adventures we go on and the fun things we do so that we can get to know eachother a little better.

Like I said I've been quite a bit lax in taking pics lately and when I do take them they aren't very good. Here's one recently of us fighting the boss of Dynamis-Beaucedine (which I'd never done and got me the flag so I could participate in Dynamis-Xarcabard). Nothing special really but you might find it interesting.

We found this undead guy while going to fight Alastor Antlion! D: He was fun to fight lol he charmed half the alliance >.> His name is Xoltol.

Well we took a run at Dynamis-Xarcabard tonight. It would be my first. So as luck would have it another BRD who was 4/5 (missing legs that dropped in Xarc) was MIA. Bard's Cannions are probably the most coveted piece and it looked like I had very little competition. Only one other person and they had to leave right in the middle. So we are fighting some of the job specific ones. These have the highest chance of dropping though it's still a pretty horrible drop rate.

If you ever wondered what a demon looks like as a BRD.



So after fighting several of these without them dropping (which is expected we finish off Decarabia.



And not too much later.



For those that don't really understand how amazing this is... another BRD in the LS has done probably 20 runs and had to wait a year to get his to drop and had to spend a lot of LS points to get them. This is me on my first run and by some craziness there was no competition and I Tier 1 lotted them.

I'm probably one of the first BRDs to ever get pants before the feet and hat. The hat is awesome and the feet even though the suck finish the outfit. I have no shoes that really go with it but I suppose Rostrums work the best.



Also the THF hands dropped to a THF who is in my sky shell so now we have TH3 in our sky shell which will be very helpful. As we were finishing up and had only a few minutes left someone decided to pull the Animated Staff which basically owned us all. He did it on purpose in a funny MPK type way and after we all got out and were getting raise he said the funniest thing.
