Japan's top 100 games
This polls a few months old but i thought it was quite interesting.
It has the top 100 games voted by Famitsu readers.
Famitsu is kind of like the 'holy grail' of video game magazines...
Final Fantasy XI is the only main FF title to not make the list. hehe

Glad to see FF8s there, even though its 22 ... And I cant believe FFX2 is so high up in the polls. I thoght people hated that game.

Already saw it, looks neat I guess. VP is like in 19th place, cool.
Still, it doesn't tell what a game is good or not, it's just a list.

10. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (1998) Way too high
20. Streetfighter II (1992) WAAAAAY too smurfing low
26. Metal Gear Solid 3 (2004) STILL TOO LOW
32. Final Fantasy X-2 (2003) Why is this here
39. Virtua Fighter (1994) You gotta be smurfing kidding me
49. Sonic the Hedgehog (1991) th fact that this isn't within the top ten makes me question if this list is fake or not
76. GTA: Vice City (2004)... this pieceo f trash got HIGHER than Resident Evil 4 and Street Fighter II Turbo? I thought Japanese gamers HATED the GTA series.
This list blows and makes no sence whatsoever.
Not surprised by anything on that list.

FFX-GREAT GREAT choice, hell who doesn't remember this game. There are games which are FORGETABLE, this game is unforgetable, wehther you like it or not. FFX-2 is also up there, yup Japs are not like us americans, they accept the girly scene openly, it's not like EVERYTHING has to be made for us males, very kick ass game and fun all around.
Now that I look at it, im shocked how little fighters are on that list, appalled in fact. Its good that Street Fighter 2 is on the list, but at number 20! Should be in the top 10 in my opinion. And where the hell is Tekken ?
No way! You mean this poll doesn't accurately reflect the views of every single person in the world!? We should sue Japan or something!

I'm not surprised that FFX - with the heavy Asian influence evident in it's design and themes - is number 1. Likewise, I'm not surprised - but I am horrified
Interesting that FFIII, a game we've never gotten, is the fourth highest ranked of the FFs on the list - at 8th place.

Why is FFX number 1?
Because when you put nostalgia aside, it's better than FFVII, which is the only game that comes close. Aside from Suikodens, of course. But I never expected those to be popular enough to be competing for first.Originally Posted by Perducci
Anyway of course everyone's going to disagree with parts of this list. I see no X-Com, which should really be in the top 5. No Alpha Centauri. Chrono Trigger at 28, but no Chrono Cross at all (That one really is BS, actually). And the presence of ANY Dragon Quest games, at all. I disagree with every single one of those, and quite bit more besides. But this list isn't here to measure my opinions, but the opinions of whoever Famitsu polled.
I approve, because I dislike Earthbound, but am nonetheless surprised, to see Mother and Mother 2 so low. I would have bet on at least one of them being in the top 20. Also glad to see Zelda isn't in the top 5, but again rather surprised.
