Lol, thanks DK. But if this is 100% true Sony may lose fans due to it. The trade and borrow system with games is excellent and I personally didnt think Sony would be really arsed by it, They are a huge company and I didnt think they would lose that much. I mean lots of Sony consoles are soldy worldwide on a daily bases.
I don't think Sony are that crazy. If they are, well, I'd be very surprised - they were doing extremely well in the gaming market, I don't know why they would want out so desperately.
While it would certainly fit into their current strategy (alienate gamers as much as possible), I don't believe it.

Does that mean Microsoft, by declaring this spyware, might actually be trying to stop this from coming to pass? If so microsoft has finally done something great.
I'm not sure what bothers me more, the idea that Sony could ever consider it, or that half the people who posted in this thread seemed to miss the word rumor plastered in the title, first post, and the article itself, and post as though it were confirmed by the President of Sony. Thank god Cid's here to set things straight. Trying something like this with a console this expensive, and given it would be impossible to hide from the public for any length of time would be utterly stupid, and though the people at Sony may be jerks at times, and try to screw over the public on occasion, we'd be the fools to think they didn't realize how suicidal this would be.
Fact is, they denied this rumour last year, and since no mention of it has been made by them but to deny it, I don't see it ever happening. Since launch isn't that far away, odds are developers would already know about it if it were going to happen, and you'd have some consciencious developers spreading the word and shifting all of their support to Microsoft and Nintendo.
