Phil Gould's coaching ability is a bit questionable if you ask me. He seems to be one of those 'inspirational' people who encourage their players to give 110% with awesome speeches and talk about doing it for your family, your club, your state or whatever. He doesn't seem like he would be a technical of a coach as Ricky Stuart or Graham Murray. Not that'd I know, it's hard to tell how they coach just from their TV time.

Ray Warren is just a commentator. He knows the names and a lot of statistics but Gus knows more players personally having coached them at some stage, or met them in some other way etc. Sterlo is a genius though.

You could argue that it wasn't Phil Gould that won Origin for NSW, but Andrew Johns. It's very easy for a coach to rely on his captain to do most of the work. Michael Hagen has like, what, a 30% winning ratio without Johns playing for the Knights. There's beef about Ricky Stuart relying on Fittler at the Roosters and Johns at NSW too. Graham Murray however, took over the Cowboys, made them winners, wins an Origin game WITHOUT Johns :O. He's the real hero.

I hate people who go off topic.
