So after nearly 2 years of playing this game, I finally attended my first FFXI wedding.

And I gotta tell ya, it made me laugh. I understand that the stuff is scripted and everything. But it was so amusing to have friends who normally say things like "shut your face n00blet" say things like "On this rock, I pledge my vow. To walk fate's path with my husband." It was a hilarious contrast.

So yeah, post your thoughts on FFXI weddings. Have you ever attended any? Do you plan on getting married yourself? Did you ever have the urge to rebel against the GM and do emotes and talk when he told you not to?

I dont play FFIX, but I do play EverQuest 2 with is another MMORPG. I know of a few people who have had weddings in that, sadly, I havent been around to attend any, but they actually look like a lot of fun in my opinion.

I'd never get married in this game unless my girlfriend started playing, which she won't as she doesn't have the time. I've never attended one either.

Oh yeah and throughout the whole thing, the Windurst music was replaced with the prelude music, it was so strange. Even after the GM left, the music kept going. And everyone was all, "uhh... does this music ever end??" It was funny.

the only wedding I have attended is a maple one.


marrying 2 8 year olds (so it seemed).... the guy cyb3red the girl.... which was pretty sad... I was the pasture.

so, then once they decided to act maturalllylly, we all went down to the jazz bar and had Bloody Mary and Whiskey on the rocks shouted to us, then a pretty light show (done by a level 115 Spear Master) at the brawl arena.

ummm, I am yet to witness a wedding on FFXI, cute though ^_^

ps: Once I finish KH and KH2 I will resume where I left off.

Yes, the weddings are a little creepy. The scriptedness of it seems to lack any type of sincerity!
