Granted, whatever happened -- it was a class headbutt and Figo's had nothing on it.

Bah. I don't think Italy deserved to win it on account of their offence; their defence, however, seemed impregnable. France played some real beautiful football in both the second half and extra time until the red card -- their domination of the ball especially in the midfield area was class.

Penalties were well taken -- Trezeguet missing, huh. What was he trying to do? A Zidane?! But note how Buffon didn't make a single save. So much for that, buffoon.

It was a really tragic end for someone who was perhaps the most hyped up player before match. Henry didn't magic anything up tonight either, which probably explains why he was substituted. I still thought it was pretty silly move by Domenech, though.

But Malouda, smurf, what a game. Whatever happened to France tonight, they've certainly discovered a few things that might help them in the future Ribery and Malouda and more? And it was pretty good, considering people had written them off in the first round. It showed true grit, and congrats Italians.
