Ronaldo in the fifth minute. Ghana played him onside -- ugh, terrible slip up. They're doing it an awful lot -- playing extremely high up the pitch, and suffering immensely when Brazil break through.

I really, really want Ghana to win. Always just a slim (!!!!) chance, especially without Essien -- but for a while there in the middle, they really looked like equalising. Ugh, that pathetic and uncoordinated save from Dida off that Mensah header. Should've been a goal. Ghana will be very lucky if they get through the game without any red cards -- four of their players are on yellow cards already. I hope they don't add to their woes.

They really have to rethink the way they're playing -- their attacking is beautiful, but their finishing is awful and they just go to pieces everytime Brazil have a break on a counter-attack or something. It's...not cool.

Parreira is so stupid. He insists with the likes of Emerson and Cafu. The only thing they do is slow down the team. Btw, Adriano was offside, but Ronaldo wasn't, and there's no way he'd miss that goal, so Ghana can't complain.

And Dida was damn lucky when he prevented that goal.

Poor Ghana. They suffered from the same trouble as they did in their previous matches, in creating plenty of chances but not having anyone capable of putting them away. In fact, every single one of the African nations had the same problem, with the possible exception of the Ivory Coast. Still, there's no shame in going out to Brazil, I suppose.

Aye. Ghana played valiantly, but Brazil were the better team -- they have a few fundamental problems, Ghana. But still, it was a good spell for them.

It was a really sweet game, too. So much camaraderie between the players on both teams The Ghanians really seemed to like stroking Roberto Carlos' shiny head. (He had a pretty poor game by his standards imho too!)

I don't know why Spain insisted on playing that stupid line defense. France thrives on those kinds of passes. Spain was also dominating until that point. Hopefully they regain their momentum in the second half.
