Yes, he is. (That's pretty much what the spoiler said.) I do not know what part he plays in the story, or if he's an optional boss. Perhaps a member who's played FFXII already can tell us?

Remix version definitely sounds nice.psf2 files are good since I can listen to it on loop
It's pretty obvious this is a way to hook in the old school players.

Gilgamesh...
[spoilers]He is a medium to difficult clan mob hunt (Mysterious Man). You fight him multiple times from as early as lvl 40s to 80s before finally bringing him down, stealing good equipment each time. Enkidou is back along with Gilgamesh too.
Being a mob hunt, he's totally optional to the story.[/spoilers]
