No no no, they aren't in the same order at all. Once in awhile you get a sentence that is, but for the most part, nope. And that's what makes speaking it so hard, for me. You have to be constantly thinking of word order. It'd be a good thing to keep in mind that the verb in the sentence will always be in the second position! Or at least, it will be for the first couple years of you learning it. Then it gets all complicated with relative pronouns and the genitive and blah blah.
A lot of the words are very similar to English, and guessing works well with German so :D
There is this video series that was made....many years ago that's great, but I can't remember the name of it at the moment. I'll go hunting.
