Default Why do people become completely mad during their "12:s"?

I noticed that right before I started 9:th grade (you're about 13 years old during 9:th grade, at least here in Sweden), myself and everyone else seemed to develop some kind of "crazy" and über-free-spirited attitude.
This seems to concern most 12-year-olds in general, and I've always wondered what actually causes this?
Do you know anything about it?

it wasn't off topic, i was commenting that i just recently started going crazy.

Further, what causes it is the longing for adult-hood and people think that by doing stupid stuff on their own, they become more adult-like

It's pretty simple, and the answer has been given. Puberty.

In the future, please use the "magic word."

Anyways, the answer is puberty. If you want to go into detail, then it is the hormones in a person's body, and since they are new hormones (yes, the body is not used to it), people tend to go... berserk.

Also, the brain is becoming far more developed far more quickly than at any other point in time. What this effect has is that people begin to become more self-aware of what they want. Being laid-back and comfy, sadistic and sarcastic, and fart jokes aren't necessarily a bad thing. Then you grow up.

There are essentially two years which are basically mental loss ages, in which it would be better had you not been them at all; twelve (your mental maturity reaches a peak high of NONE), and fourteen (Freshmen; they think they're SO much better than everyone else, arrogant, lazy children). Oddly enough, thirteen is one of the better years of a teenager.

But yeah, the answer is puberty. There's no need to discuss it any further.

Basically, kids feel like they are becoming grown up. And when other people indicate that they are in fact, two cultures clash.

I didn't go "crazy" when I was twelve.
