a unique style for every character, so when they're fighting togethor it'll be even more amazing than the game footage in the trailer. Team combination moves, and none of the becoming other characters like in FFX with sphere grids, or materia in FF7 you know? So the characters are more unique if you get what I mean.
And of course, lots and lots of summons. Not just about ten, like as many as there were in 6, that'd be AMAZING... Although I highly doubt that would happen but still!

a bit like ff9...yeah, i want each character looks unique and their skills differ from others...
no random encounters...
character playable exceeds 10...
long story, about 2 or 3 disc...

I think they should include something totally different to other FF's, but the basic level up system needs to be the same.
Even though it's futuristic, I still hope to see fixed classes for all characters. Plus, I hope to see at least 7-8 playable characters

What I hope to see?
Well to be an FF like the old good ones FF7,8,9 nothing more nothing less......
Fixed classes would be nice. It adds to the strategic element. I'd also like to see a Chocobo and a really old woman as party members. I can't remember having either of those in the party of any FF game. She can equip canes! LOL j/k She should be a female version of Fusoya or Galuf. I'm not sure what class a Chocobo could be though.

-AT LEAST 60 hours of gameplay
-Fixed job class
-a main male character with his own life(no clones/aliens/dreams,ya know what I mean)
-cool-looking weapons
-at least 9 playable characters
-random encounter system
-levelling up system
-10 summons(better be the good ol' ones from 7 to 9) and 10 evil summons(that you get to fight)
-FF9 skill-learning system
-Storyline that deson't stray off the main objective
-no dead playables in the middle of the game(although I highly doubt that they will do it again)
-ultimate weapons with cool effects
-cool airship
-a not-so-insane optional boss
-a cool evil villian like Sephiroth/Kefka/Kuja but NOT Seymour and no momma's boy.
**190 hours+ of gameplay like vivi_ultima said(kinda like Tales Of Symphonia).
**A tough/non-girly *cough* Vaan kind of character.
**CINEMATIC BATTLE
**A main character who speaks their heart out and isn't all quiet and boring *cough*Cloud.

that's all i guess. I really want the kh2 battle system for at least one of the ff13 games
An uber secret sidequest that actually works, like that Aeris revival quest they never finished... Something they could only reveal like a year after the games release to excite fans! "OMG! You can revive Trimputal!*"
