OH WAIT! You're not a noob! I can tell you! There used to be a filter, and trying to say lol resulted in I cried aloud with mirth and merriment. It's gone now, but when they got rid of the filter, everyone still wanted it. So the mods made lol with a . at the end the new lol filter.
