we have tons of lurkers who hop over from the frontsite. many of them are even real people. some are probably scouts from something awful.

Lurkers are those who are plotting to destroy the internet starting with EoFF... and I think we know who their leader is.
I usually lurk for a while before logging in—browsing the newest threads and seeing if logging in is actually worth it. I also lurk when I don't want people to see what I am doing. Not that you can do much while you are lurking.
You know, the risk of getting caught is getting me all excited.
