Actually, I personally don't think this game needs a new translation, because the weird lines in the original are pretty charming.
However, what did you think of the new translation?
I always though it bad to leave out the famous line "Son of a submariner!", and replace it with the incredibly boring "Son of a bitch!"

"Son of a submariner!"
"He could be my friend, if he weren't my enemy."
"'Wait!', he says; do I look like a waiter?"
"H-how dare you?! You licentious howler!"
"You born on a farm, son?"
"W-wait! I'm a GENERAL, not some opera floozy!"

Enough said.
