Genetics can affect how easily you gain or lose weight. An the number of fat cells in your body that you have is determined genetically. But that doesn't stop you gaining weight from the food you eat, it just means you'll have to eat alot more of it than somebody with more fat cells to gain weight. An certain exercises won't build up that much muscle, even if you work out for along time. An they may even make you more skinny, because you're getting rid of fat, but not gaining any muscle growth.
