Capcom has released details on a new Mega Man project that will tie-in to the series' 20th anniversary, a game that will be the next in line after the Battle Network RPG games they developed.

They say that this game will be on sale during this winter in Japan. This is a game from the Battle Network team that worked on the series for six years, that takes advantage of both the screens of the DS. The team has stated to bring a new type of data action RPG to gamers, one where the focus is on radio waves in this new world.

As the official anniversary site states, this game is set hundreds of years after the setting of the Battle Network games. The cyberworld from the past games isn't connected by cables, but by radio waves wirelessly. The 'Wave Road' is a big focus of the game; it is how data can travel to and from different places.

There were also some details revealed about the game, though more will be given soon. The hero of the game can actually transform into Mega Man using a device that resembles the PET device from the Battle Network series. There will of course be new friends to the hero, but it seems that the hero gets irritated with them, and there are secrets that hide why he feels that way. There will also be several new viruses for the hero to battle over the 'Radio Road'. The description about the new world is that it is called the Radio Wave World, and there will be a new way to move and to fight.

This new RPG is set to come out in Japan in winter of this year, and so far, no US release has been announced, but given what's happened in the past, gamers can expect this one to be brought stateside.
