This response is late as hell, but underaged drinking is illegal... and a lot of members here are under age. (Restates your reasons except makes it sounds better and in my side.)Weed is an illegal drug in most countries and we will most certainly not encourage people to break the law!
And smilies are seen as role models to young children. When they see people using the pimp smilie to suggest that they are cool, they mostly notice that the pimp is smoking, and therefore think "aha, to be cool, I need to smoke." It's a sad tale that lead to the lung cancer and eventual death of poor Timmy Baxter, who did love his smilies so.
