Theres no debate, PS2 is the winner. It outsold the other systems, had the longest lifespan (hell, it's still alive and kicking), had the largest library, and the largest variety in genres.

PlayStation 2. i tried with GameCube, and the games are great (Mario Kart: Double Dash). i often talk about Final Fantasy for its great graphics, and as like what others have said "graphics don't always matter". that is true indeed.
well i just wanna say dat the GAMECUBE iz by far da best for itz value, gameplay & controller comfortablenesshahahaha i've never liked da x-box haha so gamecube, ps2, then x-box nurr
Playstation 2 owned on both sides of the pacific. In the west X-box came in second, but in japan X-Box is such a joke they had to offer life sized Kasumi blow up dolls for every purchase of an X-box, and that still didnt move many systems.
I do feel sorry for nintendo though. Miyamoto isn't going to be making games forever, and thats all they got left by this point. I understand they are trying to keep gaming simple and fun, I respect them and wish them success. But I also wish they would wake up and listen to the demand and start trying to take advantage instead of ignoring the changing market. I dont want them to end up like sega.
I'm going to go against the most-used choice here and say the Xbox won, for me anyway. The PS2 won in terms of sales, price and quality (free online gaming, free DVD capability... can't say that about the Xbox), and it had a whole host of great only-on-PS2 titles, but for me the graphics were best on the Xbox, and it skipped the whole memory card annoyance, as well as having a pretty good music system (you can rip tracks very easily onto the Xbox... the only problem with it is it's slow speed).
