    Default Remedies for spicy food

I managed to make a tomato sauce too spicy again today and I was wondering; what do you do to reduce the burning in your mouth due to overly spicy food?
I use tap water, or if its really hot, cold milk. Works wonders.

I always thought that water made it worse. Of course, I always drink water when I eat spicy food. xD I know putting a bit of bread in your mouth helps for some reason. I was just eating spicy food before reading this.

A spoonfull of sour cream. Tasty, refreshing, and spice-killing!

Milk is supposed to do the trick but I never really tried it. I'd just run around fanning my mouth and drinking heaps of water.

Milk's always worked perfectly for me. I wouldn't be surprised about sour cream though ... maybe I'll try that sometime.

no matter how important something might be (ie. a giant meteor is in the sky and threatening the planet) you can always just stop in at the Golden Saucer and gamble on some dodos running around a track.

Water just spreads the spiciness. Milk and bread absorb it or something.

Milk helps a little, also the potassium in a banana is supposed to kill the spice as well.

Screaming like a frantic idiot helps a lot too.

    Yup and double yup.

Bread is one of the best, as it absorbs the spicy oil as you eat it. Of course, the best thing I have found to work, although not very polite, is to stick your tongue out as far as it will go and wipe it off with a napkin.

Dairy products like milk/cream/ice cream (especially ice cream ) work best, since the fats in them remove the hot substances Lassi's a good choice too, also being milk/yoghurt based
