Halo Help

Yeah so I bought halo for the pc again because i used to have it but lost the cd key. But I got a new computer since then, a better one. Something weird is up. The graphics are horrible, really bad. I have tried playing with the settings, but when I do that the game lags like hell. The weird thing is that this computer I have now is better then my last one. And on my last one my graphics were fine! In my new one I have 512 MB ram, and a 1.8 Ghz Processer. The only thing it might be is the graphics card. But I have the same graphics card that was in my last computer. But there is something that is suspicous that makes me wonder, look at the screenshot below.

Look at this screenshot, this is at the end where they are advertising the full version of halo, but the graphics are perfect! Thats how I want them. Why are the graphics at the end so good with no lag, but when I play the game and turn up the graphics it lags? Any help?

Do you have the most recent drivers for your graphics card?

As Hsu said, get the latest video drivers:
nVidia Geforce cards: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_84.21.html
ATI Radeon cards: https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...e&folderID=293

If that doesn't help, check the video settings in game. From the screenshot above, it looks as if the game is running in 256 colors. You definitely want to run in 24-bit or 32-bit color modes if you can.

Other than that, I cannot offer any more advice without knowing more.

haha that happened to me a while ago. I was downloading the Halo demo and everything looked like crap. Then I checked out my computer and I have a freaken integrated graphics card. How lame. I bought my Dell computer for $1400!! and I get an integrated. I have a feeling that I got ripped off. I hope you buy a good graphics card for the buck.
