However, lyrics can effect impressionable people to some subconcious degree and, furthermore, sometimes certain artists place hidden messages in music, and for some people (not all) this can have also have a negative subconcious effect. There have been studies that, when people hear or read lyrics (hidden or otherwise) it can effect behaviour. It just depends on the person (and largely on intellect... the dumber the listener, the more impressionable they are.) If one listens to lyrics, finds they are dark but not illustrating things they would ever do, this helps take away the negative effect.
