Ride the Lightning is my favourite album, it's got a very special atmosphere.

I usually listen to Seek & Destroy while taking a ride, and sing along with it: it pumps me up a lot, because I actually handle this shrieking kind of singing pretty well (in terms of voice, I sound a lot like James himself does on the record), and I've almost mastered those screams James does during "Seek And DeSTROY!!!!!"

love em!!!!! but i agree that there newer ventures just havnt captured that kick ass attitude!!!!! i smurfing loved there cover of whiskey in the jar and have to admit that i was blown away by the orchestra, it worked really well!!! as far as there best....its long gone, bring back black, justice etc!!!

its a shame that so few bands ROCK anymore!!! Jack Black is one of the last true die hard rock lovers left....just good ole rock, nothing new age, nothing experimental....i he ran for PM i would vote for him!!!

The only thing I see wrong in them experimenting, is that experimenting led to what they are now. They experimented all the good choices then after the Black Album they kind of went out there with idea's. Creeping Death is prolly my fave out of them all.

You don't fix something that's not broken, and if it works just fine, you don't add onto it to make it something 'better' because to much of a 'good' thing can be bad. I remember my mom's Bf wanting to listen to St. Anger when we were in the car on the way to my aunts, because he loved older metallica and what not. And through like... He ended up skipping tracks once the song would hit about 4 minutes and not have any kind of metallica-y stuff other then James' voice. Then after it was all done and we had skipped some tracks, we just kind of drove along sad until I found Master of Puppets to put in the cd player.

    And we all rejoiced.
*happy now 'cause Creeping Death is playing. ^^*

One of my favourite bands ever. Probably the first band I actually really liked, followed by NIN. (I used to hear them in the car all the time, and I grew to love both those bands)

The Black Album, ive heard so many times, so its kinda lost its touch these days, but it was what got me into Metallica.

We used to have this "Madatory Metallica" every night on the radio, when thee Metallica songs were played at random, and I remember being blown away by "For Whom the Bell Tolls" Id never heard a song use that kind of music before..

My favourite album is S&M, which remains one of the best ive ever heard, from any band. If anyone wasnt awed by it when they first heard it, then they fail.

I also love the Reload album (Where the Wild Things Are, Low Man's Lyric, The Unforgiven II, and the original versions of Fuel and Devil's Dance <33)

Master of Puppets was awesome, especially Sanitarium and Orion. Master of Puppets will always rock, the S&M version is legendary, imo

My favourite tracks would be No Leaf Clover, Until It Sleeps, For Whom The Bell Tolls, Where The Wild Things Are and so many other really good ones.

Id say that Whisky In The Jar is my overall favourite at the moment.

The instrumentals they do are also incerdibly awesome, Orion, Call of Cthulu and Star Wars Imperial March are awesome, some of the best instrumentals ive heard (Sure, Star Wars Imperial March may be a gimmick, but I love it nonetheless)

I heard St. Anger is more to the alternative side which is why so many fans were disappointed.

I also heard The Black Album sucked ass.

I only have ...And Justice For All because I couldn't find Master Of Puppets. I heard the song though. Kicks ass. My favorite song from AJFA is Harvester Of Sorrow.

my favourite from the AJFA album would by Dyer's Eve or Blackened because they're pure Thrash metal style songs, The Black Album had a few good songs such as Holier then thou and enter sandman but it's nothing special considering what they're capable of. But that's why Reload sucked so much (IMO). It was the most alternative rock style and far away from what Metallica were capable of compared to face shattering songs that are just plain sexy. St Anger is a much, much better album when done live. (solos, bass.) St Anger seemed like they were trying too hard to get back to their old style and went too far. James's vocal styles on Reload and St Anger weren't suited for their old Style (not songs, just style) if you noticed at Rock in Rio, Download (2004 and 2006) and Rock Am Ring, Hetfield is bringing the best of both, he's getting his aggressive growl back while keeping similar to his vocals from Load, Reload, Garage Inc and St Anger. This is just all a rough interpretation so if someone else wants to say something too add onto it go right ahead.

I love Harvester of Sorrow because of it's beginning. Not just because, but majority. Shoot, I'm gonna look up how to play that right now actually.

I absolutely love Metallica. Metallica inspired me to pick up a guitar and introduced me to the majesty that is metal.

My favorite album as a whole has to Master of Puppets, but my favorite songs are No Remorse, The Four Horsemen, Blackened, Orion, To Live is to Die, Master of Puppets, One, and Fade to Black.

I truly believe that Cliff was the better bassist out of all FOUR Metallica bassists. I loved his style and his demeanor. Next was Jason, the way he played limited him, but he could still handle a bass, and he did have great backing vocals. I hate Rob in Metallica. I don't like the way he plays or anything.

Their albums sure have gone way down hill, but at least they can still put on a good live show.

I also wanted to add that back in high school with an old band of mine, we knew how to play a good majority of all Metallica songs.

I've never heard Ron McGovney play before, you have to admit Dave's prank was funny.
