ur main means of damaging him should be magic which means ur gonna have to have rikue and wakka eliminate the negator with the ball and using explosives. and about his mana beam i got an AWESOME trick.. look since he brings out his negator when u hit him with four magic spells do just that so his mana beam doesnt wipe u out so id suggetst hasting lulu and slowing the negator - also make sure u notice that it does mana beam on turn 1 not after it so try to be fast with the spells and to be safe do 3 as fast as u can while damaging with melee'rs while stallling till mana beam for a mana beam to interupt also heal with yuna while stalling.
quick help
-crawler hp= 16,000 negator hp= 1,000
-hast lulu slow crawler
-kill negator with wakka and rikku
-do 3 magic spells and stall with 2 meleeing and yuna healing until mana beam starts to count down and interrupt mana beam by making fourth spell bring out negator and stop beam
-quickly heal when he does assault with yuna and make sure lulu can survive it
-if u want u can beat him with overdrives or aeon overdrives while stalling but i beat him without any aeons or overdrives easily
ADDED: nice sig even tho personally i hate yuna's guts and hope she burns in a jelly like hell

First buy a weapon for tidus and wakka that has lighting strike.Let rikku mix something that cast protect.Let wakka attack the thing that floats while Tidus attack the thing on the ground.Switch Rikku for auron.Auron must have a lighting weapon.when wakka knock that thing down switch the next person for yuna and let her grand summon Ixion.Let him do his overdrive.If the thing comes back switch yuna out for Tidus when its her turn.If wakka knock it down again.The person after him switch them out for Lulu let her do thunderga fury.Then if the thing comes up again.On her turn switch out for tidus.keep doing that and heal when they get hurt.

if u follow my guide you can beat him without using the sphere grid at all.
Just so u know im doing the entire game with no sphere grid using at all and im at seymour flux right now so as u can tell i already beat crawler with all starting stats and no overdrive which was in my opinion easy too
no prob, took me a lot of looking around to find out there hp tho

i have tried so far 3 times no success now i am gonna try hasting lulu and the spells as sugessted. hope it works!

u know what the funny thing is - tidus actually said that in luca during the tournament, the first one not the thong thing thats a little over the top for this kinda rated game
