Nothing too spectacular, but an enjoyable movie. Did anyone else think the Kraken looked like a Sarlacc pit?

I thought I saw my grandpa at the movie theatre...
Eh, I thought it was pretty bad to tell the truth. Overlong, overcomplicated and not enough of Captain Jack. And as that's by far the best thing about this series of films, it made for a disappointing installment. I hope that number 3 is a lot better.
whos thinkin on seeing it again? ill pay 7 bucks again to watch that

I didn't like it! ):
It made me hate the characters I loved so much in the first one!
(SPOILER)Like Jack was selfish and pretty useless and Elizabeth was off around falling for Jack while Will was doing all the heroics!
Funny thing because I really didn't like Will in the first one and he ended up being my favourite in the second!
I just liked the ending. I love Geoffrey Rush and will pay lots of moneyz to see the third movie! :D

Yeah, some of the characterization was inconsistent. Oh well can't expect a masterpiece.

I saw it today with my wife. I really enjoyed it.
The pacing felt uneven, and the movie dragged on a bit too long...but it still kicked ass, and was a hell of a lot of fun once it got going. That's what a summer blockbuster should be. The 3-way swordfight was fantastic, especially, and the ending was awesome and somehow didn't annoy me, even though I expected way more resolution.
In terms of acting, visuals, music, action and other things like that, the movie was well done. However, I didn't like it how the final 30 minutes or so were dragging the story only to resolve nothing and create reasons for a sequel. I also felt the characters were inconsistent with the first Pirates movie. The beginning of the movie was quite good, IMHO, and there were some funny moments and a few good action scenes, but otherwise, I didn't warm up to the movie like I did with the first movie.

Personally, I didn't like how in the whole movie, (SPOILER)the 'good guys' achieved absolutely nothing at all. Davy Jones is still alive, and the British git has the heart.
However, that is totally forgiveable because of the pure awesomeness of the film. It was just a lot of good fun. Characters may be inconsistent, but the way Johnny Depp acted as Jack Sparrow was totally awesome, you have one of the best characters in film history right there; it really is amazing. Keira Knightley did really well too (woof, she could plunder my treasures anyday), and Orlando Bloom wasn't too annoying. Bill Nighy was excellent as the villain too.
I was a tad disappointed with no Monkey Island references though... no real ones anyway.
But it was an excellent movie, one of the best I've gone to see in a long while, and I can't wait for the next one.

Couple things to say:
1)Horray for milking franchises and still making quality films at the same time.
2)Also, horray for cliffhangers, cause now everyone in the world knows that the 3rd movie will beat the box office record for the second one.
Still can't wait for it to come to my Dollar theater so I can watch it at work. ^^
