So do you think Cloud is antisocial?

It's common opinion that he is, but I don't really see why people think that. Sure, he was undoubtedly a prick to AVALANCHE during the raid on Sector 7 ("I didn't ask for your names" XD) and whenever they got back to Tifa's Seventh Heaven bar, but after the first 30 minutes of the game he seems more distant and aloof than anything else. He never really struck me as a jerk; hell, he usually doesn't care enough to be one.

So what are your thoughts on Mr. Strife?

Personally, I don't think he's an antisocial prick - I just think he's overrated. I mean, come on. He's a guy with a big sword who tries to get off with too many people. It sounds almost exactly the same as.... Zidane. And Dante from Devil May Cry. True, he came before them, but, as at least Dante was done better, you can see his imperfections, as it were.

I thought he was kind of regular. Y'know, your regular, everyday, sword-wielding guy. I think his attitude towards Avelanche was just so he wouldn't get too attached to his job (that could be a problem for mercenaries like him). And it did make him seem kind of cool.

I didnt like him at first, but then I started to think he was ok and as the story developed I did feel sorry for him ... just a bit!

Naw, he softened up at the end, and you could tell he cared about the world, and his friends! Unlike Squall, who mostly cares about Rinoa...but whatever! :rolleyes2

I didn't find Cloud all that bad. He wasn't the most heroic person there is, but he gets some pretty good character development in the game, and you'll see more about how he cares about his friends later in the game, especially after he's found the truth about himself. In terms of being antisocial, I don't think he was as bad as Squall, and IMHO, even Squall got better during Disc 2 in FFVIII. In AC, (SPOILER)Cloud's feeling of guilt and his Geostigma drive him away from his friends, but when he returns back to Midgar during the Bahamut battle, we see how big a strength friends are for Cloud.

I actually think cloud has more in common with locke than most people realize. He is like Locke 2.0 - so naturally I love em. He is protecting and ver full of self doubt at times. He does not want his friends getting hurt - blah blah blah. Cloud just does not show his feelings enough, which is odd, because Locke only had 16 bits to work with, and he showed more character

Yes, he is and no, he's not.

Cloud is a happy-overhyped boy with a big sword made from plastic and he consider Sephiroth as his father.
Cloud is a nice, cute and lovable boy from North Poles. HE arise in front of party members, "Sephiroth is my idol!!". When he becomes a badass and was infected by illusionary crime from Sephiroth, "I want to defeat Sephiroth! I want to!"

Cloud's ranking in leadership rank:

Worst AFTER Tidus.

Seriously, Zidane and Cecil is way and away better than Cloud.

So 50-50?
