Grace Jones - La Vie En Rose

Amazing performance. Listen to her voice! Just magical.

Grace Jones - Demolition Man & Pull Up to the Bumper

She got a Grammy Award for this amazing performance. Watch all the Grace Jones clones walking across the stage. This performance was groundbreaking. You MUST watch this performance! It'll blow you away. This performance is from her One Man Show from the early 80's.

My favorite live video is John Denver's "Amazon (Let This Be a Voice)", recorded in 1995 in New York City as part of The Wildlife Concert, and for this reason it's unavailable on YouTube. It features John on vocals and 12-string acoustic guitar, Pete Huttlinger on electric guitar, James Burton on slide guitar, Alan Deremo on bass, Machido Sanchez on percussion, and Jim Horn playing an amazing tinflute.

    But, I can't show it.

So, in absence of the best live video I've ever seen, I will simply give some of my favorites from YouTube.

This is James Taylor performing "Sweet Baby James," probably his biggest anthem. What separates this from other performances is the fact that his good friend Yo-Yo Ma is playing the cello and adds a new dimension to it. I believe this is from last year.

And now, a man who didn't get anywhere close to the credit he deserved, Mr. Phil Ochs. This is his most popular song, "I Ain't Marchin' Anymore." So few videos exist of Mr. Ochs, so this is pretty special. One of the last true American troubadours.

There are a couple more from that same show up on there. Searching for "musikladen ramones" should get you most of them.

EDIT: Also, a popular Beck performing Loser on Top of the Pops with a bunch of old guys video. That one has some junky quality, though.
