I had the Lunar Odin and Lunar Mist Dragon Grimoires but used them fighting Lunar Ashura. Am I screwed when I get to the end of the dungeon, do you actually need all of them to beat it? Thanks.

No, you can fight the final optional boss without them. He isn't even that tough without them. I never use the Grimoires anyway, except for a certain 'experiment' or two... Anyway, why does everyone think that? And you can re-acquire the Grimoire by doing that Trial over again. If you already have the Grimoire, you just get some other healing item.
Thanks. At the beginning of fhe dungeon (I thought) it tells you that you *need* to gather all 9(?) Grimoires and that you needed them to unlock some sort of seal or door at the end.

For some reason, you do not need all the Grimoires to beat Zeromus EG. I find it rather simple to do so without them. Lunar Odin and Lunar Ramuh makes him look like a joke.
Damn, I was looking forward to a huge, epic, and difficult battle. I am finding Lunar Bahamut hard, specifically because you can't save in Kain's trial which makes for a teeth grinding if you lose.
Input the Jump Command when Mega Flare gets to '2'. That way, you be Jumping when he uses Mega Flare, and get out of it unscathed. Put Cain in the back row so the counterattacks will do a measly ~200 damage (provided you have all the Dragon Equipment on). Another tactic is to use Lunar Curtains and reflect the Mega Flare. Both tactics are infallible, so long as you do them correctly.
Zeromus EG isn't a pushover, but he isn't really difficult. But don't worry, it'll be epic. However, you can make him a joke with the Grimoires...literally. Well, at least try to beat him legitimately the first time, okay?![]()
Thanks. I won't be using any Grimoires on himIn fact, I think I still have one left from the Lunar Ashura Battle, I might use it on Lunar Bahamut while using the back row and jump tactics. I had been using the jump tactic before but I forgot about the backrow so his counters were doing 1200+..
Zeromus EG isn't actually the hardest creature in the Lunar Ruins anyway, Brachioradialis is.

Ahh, yes. I have now beaten all of the trials except the twins'. I beat the lunar zeromus, he was not to bad. "Brachioradialis" is damned hard haven't beat him yet. I am glad they included an enemy that was still hard with a lvl 70 party (all though I heard the abel's lance tornado tactic, I would like to try to beat it without).
Never mind, I Just defeated "Brachioradialis" by beating him down with Flare and double jump. Hero's shield is nice.
Edit by Kishi: Don't double-post.
I can never beat Brachioradialis![]()
Vaan - "Hey, you!"
Penelo - "Yeah, you! The one reading this sig at this very moment!"
Vaan - "Interested in playing FFXII International Zodiac Job system?"
Ashe - "But you have no knowledge of the Japanese language?"
Fran - "....We could help...."
Balthier - "That's right, Fran! Just click on Crossblades' thread on the very bottom of this signature and it will show you all license grid translations, magicks and tecks locations, and other changes that were made!"
Basch - "Don't forget though. Swap Magic is needed to play this game if you don't own a japanese PS2."
Vaan - "Also remember that if you played the original, you'll have an easier time playing the international version. We hope you enjoy the International Zodiac Job System experience. See ya then!"

Use Cain's Abel Lance from completing his Lunar Trial. It has a chance of killing the dragon outright.
If you don't, it's certainly possible to beat him without it. You'll be spending alot of time reviving and healing, but yeah. Use Gilbert's 'Chant' or whatever that casts Shell and Protect at once. Rosa/Porom (or both) should be on healing duty. Another two melee fighters should be attacking him, but DO NOT attack him during the countdown.* Set up Reflect on at least your healers to protect them from Megaflare and do damage to the dragon. Eventually he will fall.
Of course, with a Hero's Shield and Lunar Curtains, he's a joke solo too.
*He'll use Reflect, Shell, and Protect or whatever all on himself, and spam spells at you. You don't want that.
Oh yeah, and Globe 199. You definitley don't want that.
Managed to beat him just as he was counting at "3" for the first time. I had Cecil, Palom, Porom, Edge, and Kain. I just attacked with Cecil and Edge (around 5000 + dmg with Cecil and 4000 + dmg with Edge). I used Kain's Double Jump for 9999 dmg every few turns, cast "Flare" every time it was Porom's turn for 8000 + dmg.
