Thread: The Standard Grid

    Default The Standard Grid

afetr completing the game and wanting to play again aswell as understanding the characters, do you think you'd ever use the standard grid again? I mean, obviously for us experts, the expert grid is far better and far more helpful, but don't you ever feel like trying out the standard grid again?

actually the standard grid can be better depending on how far you want to take the game. if u want to have awesaome chars earlier on then expert is better but there are more nodes in the standard grid so u don't have to use as many clear spheres to get the same effect

Why do you imprison your saviour?

I use the standard grid quite a lot but I also use the expert grid a lot. BTW Silent enigma you can use the expert grid on your very first playthrough of the game.

At the beginning of the PAL and Int. versions you get to choose between Standard and Expert SG.

The Expert SG is more flexible but has less stat nodes than the Standard SG, so stat-maxing is more difficult.

The expert grid is the same except that the order has completly changed and the background to it is yellow

Also all the characters start very close to each other and the paths are very flexible. I suppose it's called "expert" because in your first time playing, you'll get lost easilly

For eventual maximum stats either grid is fine for your base stats. There used to be a fantastic guide for this on Gamefaqs but it's since gone the way of the ghost. It listed basically all the +4 stat nodes and +300 HP nodes present on the grid, and the possible maximum HP on both grids after maxing out all your stats and getting MP to exactly 999. I think it's something like the standard can go to 42000 and the expert can go to around 39000, but for the love of God don't quote me on that!
