I just turn public chat onto friends only, that way you can only speak to friends nearby.
The gameplay is pretty cool actually. WoW and GW take more time to set up and cost more then Runescape.

5 mil who play there's over 100 servers each holding up to 2k users with an average of 1k online per server. That's around One Million online at once averagly.

I don't get why so many people play the game. There are tons of better games out there.
Oh, I got a level 48 character if anyone wants it, I hate this game now and won't be using it. Just let me know and I'll give it to you.
The only good thing about RuneScape for me
is that I can kill almost any free player in one to two hits.

I don't play RuneScape, but my younger cousin tried to get me yo play once, and a couple of boys in my year at school play it, who I refer to as the 'runescape crowd'. And every morning, withour fail, at least three of them will be haggling with each other for different weapons/armour.
I played Runescape. My name was Thewildman55 a level 78 member. And Shoden has it all wrong.
There are 5 Million ACCOUNTS registered to Runescape. Each person is allowed to create up to 12 accounts.
Now put this into the equation. Many people join and quit. If they play for a while then they often make more then one account. You can also multi-log extremely easily.
I estimate that there is only a total of 100,000-500,000 people who play.
I only really played because of how much it sucked me in. Its kind've like MSN messenger but your doing something while you're talking to your friends.
