Actually, there is pvp in FFXI. But the game isn't based around pvp like every other MMORPG out there (seriously) -- and that doesn't mean it's not a great game. Not everything is about pvp.

FFXI is about being smart with your actions and your character. Unlike others where you just get every good armor and weapon and then start bashing everything you see. *cough WoW cough*

another thing most players of FFXI miss out on because they quite *rambles on* and when they are finally told they are silenced and cant reply to the post from subliminal shock *doesnt stop for a breath* thus getting a small little irritation in thier head lasting around 3 to 6 hours whilst having it finally finish not replying and continually procrastonating *GIANT INHALE*

Runescape has been payed way to much for what it is, and needs some very large content/gameplay/graphic upgrades, browser, or not browser game *begins counting RS character sprite pixels*
I'm a member of Runescape, my username is Pirate Matie (currently lvl 55). I finally am back up to 350K and can finally buy an Obsidian Shield (yes!!). Add me to your friends if you want I play a lot.
I can see that most of you never got far enough into Runescape to have fun. It stinks being a lvl 25 and below. You can't wear or afford good items. You have to get your stats up to get the good stuff from the game. (Hint: The first 30 levels of each stat are gimmes)
Anyone who insults a game is simply biased, they only believe on their own feelings of the certain game. Someone can like a game, where as others don't, kind of like pac-man, I think the game is stupid and boring, yet some people love the game to death, or even tetris for another example.
If someone likes it, they like it, if someone doesn't, they don't, but you don't need to say it more than once to try and make the other person in favor of the game dislike it.
youd be suprised, some people follow bandwagons.
for example the FFX-2 HATE CREW!
and this one, the Runescape HATE CREW!
And that automatically makes it right? No.

Personally, I like the game. It's not exactly complicated, and I can do it whilst doing something else, which is convenient.
