    Status ailment and STILL I gained stat increases!

    I was fighting around in FF2 yesterday, and then some enemy casts this Poison spell that lasts forever, and he casted it on Gus.
    Now I didn't really care, because Gus was over-powered anyway, but for some reason I get a message saying "Gus's Endurance increased!"

    What's this?
    I thought you didn't gain stat increases under a status ailment?

    I thought you didn't gain stat increases under a status ailment?
    Yes you do. I beleive stone is the only one where you can't gain anything.
