Is Jesus Just Alright With You?

It seems that lately, a lot of people have been quoting that Tenacious D song about tributaries or whatever, and that's a pretty good song. I prefer Wonderboy, but that's just me.

However, that got me thinking about "silly" music. There's a lot of silly music out there. The Steve Miller Band did some pretty silly music, and I like them some good, but my favorite "silly" song is Jesus Is Just Alright With Me by the Doobie Brothers. That was before Michael MacDonald turned them to crap and a half.

What's your favorite "silly" song, and/or your favorite "silly" band? Why or why not. Explicate. Extrapolate. Eviscerate. Etc.

    Signature by rubah. I think.

"Hey Fred" by Rehab is silly and good. I don't think I have a favorite of those types of songs, as odd as that may be. My mood-sort function returned only Rehab songs, so I eviscerated that tag.

Hmm I think I like... Ben Fold's Rockin The Suburbs. :DD
He's singing something like how hard it is to be male, middle class and white.

I think it was also because of his music video. He tried a balck ''ghetto" approach, a garage band, and something reminiscent of a Limp Bizkit frontman.

I was one of those Weird Al fans back in the day. But after Smells Like Nirvana I couldn't really get back into him. Not because it was a bad parody, but because all others seem mediocre to it.

Ah yes, Tenacious D. What amazing singers they are. Wonderboy was their best.

They Might Be Giants. They sing Istanbul not Constantinople, Particle Man, etc. Also, King Missile (I think they're called) has some funny ones, like the Bunny who Wanted to be a Rat, and Jesus was Way Cool. Those would be the top of my silly music list. For serious bands writing funny songs, though, The Tourist, by Radiohead. That one makes me laugh.

Particle Man is King. It is also a rather deep song.

The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas was one of my favorite They Might Be Giants songs. Joy to the World by Three Dog Night is another good goofy one.
But I think my favorite silly song is Camel Walk by Southern Culture on the Skids...

That's an awesome song, Sammie. I'm going to see them on my birthday!

I dunno, but Wonderboy is much better than Tribute.
