This game has always worked. However, ever since a new hard drive was put into the computer, when i try to play it, the following comes up:

The first thing to do is always get the latest drivers for your video card and make sure windows is fully up to date. (latest directX, etc...)

yeah, i have the new Direct X. i have to stress that it always worked, until now. could it be because i installed some settings for the moniter, from the disc of Star Wars: Republic Commando?

With this new hardrive, I am assuming you reinstalled windows correct? The same version that was on there. Jedi Academy is 100% openGL (I am pretty sure) so it should work with out and extra DirectX updates needed.

That error is sayinig that your video card does not support OpenGL. Well, it does, I can nearly assure you. You need to download the updated drivers for your video card; as it seems like you have not installed any drivers for your video card since your reinstall of windows. That was your first mistake; Your second was not listening to SamaraiD
