    Default [A] Fireworks

I went to Pier 39 in San Francisco to watch the fireworks for 4th of July, and even though the fireworks were pretty medicore (nothing to compare with Disneyland's!) I still got some great shots. Most of these were taken with veeery slow shutterspeed to capture the light.

    And some experimental ones:

And a special one for my boyfriend where I tried to create a heart with the light from the firework. It kinda turned out well.

Aaah, I love the heart one, that's my favourite. How did you do it? The pictures are so nice and they came out well. I wish it wasn't so stormy in NY on the 4th of July, or else I would have tried to take photos of fireworks.

I set the shutterspeed to something like 10 seconds and then slowing moved my camera in a heart shape to capture the light that way. It's a simple trick, all you have to do is to move slowly and make big motions while the shutterspeed is dragging.
