Default "Finding" old music

I was cleaning out an old CD case and I found my old copy of Hello Nasty by The Beastie Boys today. I threw it in the CD player and realized that I had forgotten how much I love this album.

Have you ever forgotten about an album, then "found" it several months/years later and rekindled your love for it?

Totally, I've done that lots and lots of times.

I have like 500 LPs in my basement, so I always re-discover albums.

I go off bands from time to time. Usually this off period will last a couple of months. Then when I feel the time is right I will listen to an album and gradually wean myself back onto the band (and off of others). This doesn't always work, though. Recently I've been trying to listen to a particular band every day but the feeling just isn't there.

I've never really forgotten my love for an album, though. Nor have I had a real re-discovering experience (which I imagine would be quasi-first time experience). Maybe I don't have enough time away from a band to truly forgot what it is like; opening space for re-discovery.

The New Radicals. I had forgotten they existed, and then i was over a friends house and she had a copy of it. I kinda threw it in just to remind myself what the sounded like. then I remembered... Immediately made a copy, and I've been listening to it nonstop for a year now.

Yeah, that's definitely happened to me before. No recent events, though, since I've been thoroughly immersing myself in my current music stash.

I recently rediscovered Jimi Hendrix, after deciding I need a break from ove-listening to it a long time ago.

I think the most recent thing that I rediscovered was either Reign in blood (slayers best album) or images and words (Dream Theater)...

    I re-discovered a Spice Girls album.

... no, I haven't rekindled my love for it. I chucked it at my garbage bin, that's what.
